Description
The modern Emel sideboard complies with strict design directives led by the renowned Italian rationalist architect and designer, Aldo Rossi. Rossi’s urban aesthetic influence merges with Malabar’s, creating a contemporary and captivating piece.
The Emel Sideboard is handcrafted, with the central shelves made from ironwood and finished with an eclectic mosaic on the exterior, while the lacquered structure is finished with a high-gloss lacquer and supported by a polished brass base, adding a refined touch to this classic piece with a modern edge.
The Emel Modern Sideboard is part of the World Architects collection.
Malabar was founded in 2012, alongside the launch of a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. It has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.
Malabar has made its mark at the most prestigious international fairs, such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing.
Malabar’s furniture production originates from the Porto area in northern Portugal, a region with a long and strong tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that set such original companies apart. Emotions, handcrafted craftsmanship, and space-inspired design create an explosive mix of elegant furniture.
The various techniques used to produce natural wood products yield incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of the design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and bold hues dominate, significantly diverging from traditional and stereotypical furniture.
Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in the daring furniture designs.
The company’s name itself derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history with the discovery of the Cape. The value of original spices motivated Portuguese merchants to chart bold sea routes.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to define highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. They are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.
And these are exactly the kinds of products we love and feature on the My Luxury Products platform.
