Description
Architecture inspired by trees has emerged in several cities across Southeast Asia, inspiring Malabar to incorporate it into contemporary interior design. German architects Ingenhoven developed plans for Marina One, a new skyscraper in Singapore characterized by tree-inspired architecture.
The modern Marina dining table is a reinterpretation of a tree trunk into an artistic furniture piece, perfect for creating a nature-inspired environment within modern living spaces. The Marina modern dining table features a tabletop with radial veneer of deciduous wood finished with high-gloss lacquer, combined with smoked glass in the center, supported by a polished brass structure, giving this artistic furniture a luxurious style, ideal for any contemporary living space.
Malabar was founded in 2012, launching a wide range of decorative Fado guitars and the stylish World Architects furniture collection. To date, it has designed and released a total of 5 exceptional furniture and accessory collections.
Malabar has left its mark at major international fairs such as 100% Design London, Maison & Objet, Decorex, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Seoul International. These are among the top venues for showcasing innovative design.
Malabar’s design originates from Porto, in northern Portugal, a region with a long-standing tradition of handcrafted products.
The identity of this luxury brand is rooted in the architectural and artistic heritage of the past five centuries.
International experience and a pursuit of perfection are the details that define such original companies. Emotions, handcrafted quality, and space-age design create an explosive mix of exclusive furniture.
Various techniques of working with natural wood produce incredible effects, as seen in Malabar’s exceptional collections. An important aspect of their design is the combination of neutral and black colors.
Vivid and striking colors dominate, significantly deviating from traditional and stereotypical furniture.
Besides wood, the manufactory uses brass, gold and silver leaf, as well as other high-quality raw materials.
The Portuguese soul is very colorful and fascinating, clearly reflected in bold furniture designs.
The company’s name derives from Malabar black pepper. Along with other spices, it changed the course of trade history after the discovery of the Cape. The rarity of original spices prompted Portuguese merchants to chart a daring sea route.
This remains true today, as Malabar continues to set highly individual design boundaries and evokes strong emotions with its projects. Their designs are very liberated, seductive, bold, and extremely exclusive.
And these are exactly the kinds of products we love and feature on the My Luxury Products platform.
