Saladini's tradition dates back to the 15th century – when the first “Master Knifemakers” published its statutes. These included the goals of protection and the process plan for the production and trade of knives. From that generation to today, manufacturers follow in the footsteps of their ancestors, creating products driven by the same passion and tradition.
It is worth appreciating Italian craftsmanship – Saladini products are original and made from the highest quality materials.
Saladini's manufactory offers reliable accessories with forged blades. Each product bears the engraved logo of the manufacturer, which is proof of authenticity and a quality guarantee.
Marking is performed during the craft process, when the blade is not yet hardened.
Saladini is very selective in choosing steel – mainly using hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.
Saladini creates blades using two processes: rolling and forging.
The rolling method is used to produce knife blades, cigar cutters, and certain lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, whose thickness depends on the intended use of the knife.
Forged blades are made through a complex process involving hammering and anvil, used for kitchen and table knives as well as collector’s items. Hand forging allows for shaping the blades, handles, and bolsters, which are then fitted into the handle.
After tempering, both types of blades are hardened and annealed during heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the proper hardness for an optimal cutting edge.
In addition to the series of traditional knives, Saladini offers a wide range of kitchen knives, table accessories, cutlery, as well as corkscrews and cigar cutters. Each product is crafted with great care, paying attention to every detail.
