Description
This kitchen tool is essential in any kitchen. It easily helps in transferring meat and removing it from a dish or pot.
Alongside the range of traditional knives, Saladini offers a wide selection of kitchen knives, table accessories, cutlery, as well as corkscrews and cigar cutters with forged blades. Each product features an engraved manufacturer’s logo, which serves as a mark of authenticity and a guarantee of quality.
The marking is done during craftwork, when the blade is not yet hardened.
Saladini is very selective in choosing steel — mainly using hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.
For manufacturing blades, Saladini uses two processes: quenching and forging.
Quenching is used to create knife blades, cigar cutter heads, and certain lines of table knives. These blades are cut from steel sheets, whose thickness depends on the intended use of the knife.
The complex manufacturing process involves forging blades with a hammer and anvil, which are used for kitchen, table, and collector’s knives. Hand forging allows for creating the appropriate shapes of blades, handles, and bolsters, which are then inserted into the handle.
After tempering, both types of blades undergo a hardening and annealing process in heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the proper hardness for an optimal cutting edge.
Saladini’s tradition dates back to the 15th century – when the first “Master Knifemakers” published its statutes. These included the goals of protection and the process plan for the production and trade of knives. Since then, generations of producers have followed in the footsteps of their ancestors, creating products driven by the same passion and tradition.
Saladini respects its heritage while continuously improving its products — making them increasingly innovative.
This company’s experience is rooted in centuries of tradition. It is based in the Italian town of Scarperia. The literal meaning of this name is “city of knives.” It is here that the talent related to knife craftsmanship has been dormant since ancient times. This craft was regarded as an ancient form of art.
It will surely be an original gift!
