Odegard Carpets started its operations in the late 1980s, revolutionizing the world of weaving craftsmanship. For production, they select Himalayan wool sourced from the fleece of local sheep. These sheep graze at altitudes above 14,000 feet above sea level. Their wool is rich in lanolin, which makes Odegard Carpets rugs and kilims more stain-resistant.
Intense shades result from manual processing and dyeing. Inspiration for creating rugs comes from a blend of Venetian fabrics, Tibetan and Buddhist symbols, art, architecture, and nature. Many patterns are inspired by tropical leaf shapes or the colors of the sunset over the picturesque Himalayan peaks.
All rugs from this brand are handmade from carefully selected silk and Himalayan wool yarns. Dyeing is carried out using fully natural processes. Organic materials such as nuts, roots, or saffron are used, while maintaining the highest quality.
