Arnstadt Crystal was founded by Master of Handicraft Heinrich Arlt in 1947, a resident of northern Bohemia, who, together with his family, decided to move to Arnstadt after World War II to continue traditional crystal trade and start his own business.

For many years, a small family workshop  gradually aimed for better achievements, expanding the company, and over time, the production of glass was gradually replaced with more beautiful crystal products.

Arnstadt Crystal incorporates lead oxide. This gives it very unique optical properties, including a significantly higher refraction index, which gives the glass a characteristic and very distinctive brilliance.
