Manufactory Coltelleri Saladini is an Italian, centuries-old brand specializing in handcrafted kitchen accessories and knives with forged blades. Each blade features an engraved manufacturer logo, serving as proof of authenticity and guaranteeing quality.
The marking is applied during the craft process, when the blade is not yet hardened, which facilitates and speeds up the entire process.
Saladini is very selective in choosing steel – mainly using hardened stainless steel with high or 100% carbon content.
Saladini employs two manufacturing processes for blades: rolling and forging.
The rolling technique is used for producing knife blades, cigar cutters, and some table knife lines. These blades are cut from steel sheets, with thickness depending on the intended use of the knife.
The most challenging process is forging, performed with a hammer and anvil, used for kitchen, table, and collector’s knives.
Hand forging allows for creating the proper shapes of blades, bolsters, and handles, which are then assembled into the finished knife.
After tempering, both types of blades are hardened and annealed during heat treatment, which, depending on the steel composition, determines the correct hardness level for an optimal cutting edge.

The company gained experience through centuries of tradition. It is based in the Italian town of Scarperia. The literal meaning of this name is “the city of knives”.
