In complete opposition to this situation, the philosophy of Berti Knives is to produce exclusive knives for various purposes. Founded in 1895 by David Berti, the family workshop seems to be entirely independent of the trends that have prevailed worldwide over the years. Its core value is a commitment to tradition, which is now cultivated by the fourth generation of experienced artisans.
The owners strongly reject the idea of mass production by random labor, which they believe would lead to the loss of identity of the offered products. For this reason, their company's philosophy places a special emphasis on the employed personnel. However, this does not mean that this Italian family is closed to any changes. They are very welcome, provided they introduce elements consistent with the existing idea and can withstand long-term quality tests.
Unlike others, the different stages of knife creation are not handled by specialized sections of artisans, but are performed from start to finish by the same person. Thanks to this practice, each blade is completely unique.
The production uses the highest quality materials — blades are made of steel, while handles include materials such as buffalo horn, bison horn, deer antler, and 'bosso' wood.
The owners encourage that, despite being designed for everyday use, their knives should be treated with proper respect, which guarantees their durability for many years. Each one is, after all, a small, unique work of art.
