We are delighted to present to you the exceptionally luxurious company Ongaro & Fuga, founded in 1954 by Franco Fuga and his wife Tullia Ongaro. The collaboration of these two highly creative individuals has resulted in a distinctive and fresh perspective on art. They proudly emphasize that Ongaro & Fuga is a centuries-old tradition, through which they revive the magic and incredible Venetian mirrors.

Their talent was inherited by their son Julian, who continues the family traditions. Through collaboration with international artists and designers, he creates a bridge to the future. This is a significant nod to family traditions and multi-generational manufactories. Julian believes that every cloud or colorful Italian façade reflecting in the lagoon waters provides lively material for new projects. Many of these luxurious mirrors are faithful reproductions of historic pieces. Ongaro & Fuga is part of the Consorzio Promovetro di Murano – an important consortium that is a member of Confartigianato Venezia and Confindustria Venezia. They have been actively working for over twenty years to strengthen the image of artistic glass to preserve and defend the thousand-year-old Murano glass art. This is an extremely important initiative that does a lot of good for cultural heritage. Ongaro and Fuga are proud of their Promovetro certification for producing their mirrors on Murano island.

What does the production of these famous mirrors look like?

For this reason, Ongaro and Fuga’s artistic mirrors come with a price. The work involved often exceeds 100 hours and can include thousands of decorative elements. For centuries, it has been artisans behind the evolution of the premium industry, deciding the final appearance of the product with their hands. Everything begins with a sketch on paper. Then, the glass is gradually shaped to fit the design, using very delicate and smooth diamond grinding stones. Step by step, they refine sharp edges and imperfections.
