The stand is intricately carved, decorated with small columns, a central mirror, and small side mirrors on the sides, topped with small brackets supported by twisted columns resting on the credenza's top. The rectangular top features a single drawer and two doors, with turned vertical posts connected to a plinth base.

Good condition, signs of wear consistent with age; Comes from a private collection, the credenza has a beautiful patina that highlights the warm color of the wood.

The modest depth of this antique English mirror cabinet makes it an ideal piece for an entryway.

Original antique furniture and accessories can be an excellent idea for interior decoration. Today, there is an increasing number of enthusiasts of high-quality vintage products that possess a distinct character and soul. This is a nod to history, craftsmanship, and the design of traditional and timeless furniture. There are many different styles in antique furniture, each with its own distinctive features.

Many styles characterize antique furniture, but a few stand out as the most important. Eclectic furniture spans the 19th century, including the beloved Biedermeier style. Its early variations include neo-Gothic, Gothic, Rococo, Louis-Philippe style, and finally the English Victorian style. By the end of the century, these styles transitioned into pseudo-classicism, Renaissance, and Baroque styles.

Original Empire-style furniture dates from the late 18th to early 19th century, inspired by the reign of Napoleon. It features significant Roman and Greek decorative motifs.

Neoclassical furniture reflects the Louis XVI style, which also draws heavily from ancient architecture. Notable and interesting are antique products in Rococo and Louis XV styles. Baroque, deriving from the Portuguese word 'barocco'—meaning an irregularly developed pearl—was characterized by highly ornate furniture meant to exude splendor and luxury. Materials were selectively used to emphasize the grandeur of these pieces.

Today, we can observe how much the Baroque style influenced modern classical furniture, which is often designed with a strong resemblance to the historical period. The Renaissance style, flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries, also left a significant mark on furniture design. Renaissance furniture was quite heavy and solid, using brown stains, cornices, sturdy bases, and reliefs. These products were quite distinctive but also introduced new possibilities, such as the construction of credenzas and broadly defined chest furniture. Mythology and ancient themes were also popular, with supports and legs often shaped like animals.

Lion’s paws, eagle heads—these are common features in Renaissance-style furniture. Many global brands now reproduce such furniture, inspired by Italian and French craftsmen, as a tribute to and preservation of the finest Renaissance antiques. It’s important to remember that each country had its own approach to furniture making, giving each style a unique character. This is especially crucial when selecting a luxurious antique piece for your interior.

The key aspect of stylish antique furniture is originality. Ultimately, this is what matters most to clients, as the market is flooded with counterfeits. Luxury Products provides documentation confirming the authenticity of each item, matching the description and photos. We also have access to art appraisers, historians, and experts from around the world.
